Prawn + white bean orzo ~ with fennel seeds + basil ~ ๐Ÿƒ

Cook once ~ and serve the whole family ๐Ÿ…

This is a deliciously creamy + fragrant dish with smooth white beans and fresh king prawns

๐ŸฆPrawns are a source of protein, zinc, iodine, omega-3 + choline - all important nutrients for growing babies and toddlers

Prawns are a potentially allergenic food so if your little one hasnโ€™t had prawns before offer them with caution!

YOU NEED

Extra virgin olive oil

500g orzo

Black pepper in a grinder

3 large garlic cloves, grated

One orange zested and juiced

4 teaspoons of fennel seeds

300g of plum tomatoes finally chopped or whizzed in a blender

Veg stock made up to 1000mls with boiled water

400g cooked white beans like cannellini beans (Iโ€™ve used bold beans jarred Organic Queen White Beans)

TO MAKE

Drizzle a generous glug of olive oil in a pan and heat on a medium heat.

Add the orzo and a generous grinding of black pepper and heat for 2-3 mins, stirring continuously, then remove the orzo from the pan.

Return the pan to the heat and add a little more olive oil, the garlic, orange zest, fennel seeds and cook for one mins, then add the tomatoes and the veg stock along with the orange juice.

When boiling, add the orzo then lower the heat and place a lid and cook for 20 mins or so until the orzo is cooked- you want a risotto texture.

Check frequently and add more water if needed.

Then when cooked, add the prawns and the white beans and cook for 5-6 mins until they are cooked through, then add the shredded basil and serve!

6-9 months: blend babies portion in a blender.

For babies 10-12 months: take babies portion out of the main dish and remove the prawns, finely chop the prawns and add back to the dish and flatten the beans with a potato masher OR blend babies whole portion in a blender.

For babies 12 months plus: take babies portion out of the main dish and remove the prawns, finely chop the prawns, then add back to the dish. Serve with a spoon or allow baby to self feed.

Older children and adults: just eat ๐Ÿ˜†
